Order for illegal Afghan refugees to leave Pakistan: The return policy of Afghan refugees should be reviewed. (Zabihullah Mujahid)
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban government
in Afghanistan, has requested the government of Pakistan to review this policy
after the official announcement of the deadline for the illegal foreign Afghan
citizens living in Pakistan to leave the country voluntarily by November 1.
Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti had given time to the foreign
nationals residing illegally in Pakistan to voluntarily leave the country till
November 1 and said that if such persons do not return to their land within the
given time, the law will be enforced. The authorities will come into action and
deport them.
On Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Taliban government in
Afghanistan responded to this announcement by calling the treatment of Afghan
refugees in Pakistan unacceptable, saying that "Afghan refugees have no
hand in Pakistan's security problems."
Zabihullah Mujahid has said that Pakistan should reconsider its policy in this regard. Zabihullah Mujahid further said that 'until the refugees leave Pakistan willingly and contentedly, they should not be expelled and added that Pakistan should act with tolerance. A day before Zabihullah Mujahid's statement came out, on Tuesday, the Afghan embassy in Islamabad had alleged that the Pakistani capital Islamabad and its neighboring city of Rawalpindi had allegedly but there has been a mysterious death of four Afghan citizens who were arrested by the police.
