Believed to be a non-venomous rat-eating snake, the snake was chased off the field before the restart of the match between Galle Titans and Dam bulla Ora.

The incident took place during the second innings of the game. A video of the incident is going viral on social media.

An umpire is seen slapping the snake to the ground to get it off the field. A commentator is heard saying "Who is the fourth umpire, he is a brave man. It seems to be his pet." The snake is then seen slithering near the cut bags which are lying on the boundary ropes.
